Today we meet two students in Brick Lane who tell us about their fashion style, they tell us that they like to keep their style casual and comfortable.
They are a perfect example of understated style, where one can look stylish without having to go to extraordinary lengths to do so.
The standout items for both of the students are undoubtedly their jackets which clearly have a high-end premium feel which they manage to blend perfectly with their general casual look.

London Fashion Week may be over but we are continuing our downtheditch styler week, showcasing to you to hottest street style fashion in our beloved Shoreditch area. Next up we have Toni who is from Liverpool and was just down for the weekend visiting friends, the hat she wears was recent purchase to fight off the cold weather.
She describes her style as a mix donated gifts from friends with an eye for good style and a number vintage items which she has hunted down. The blue scarf pictured above is an example of a donated gift which she got from her mum.
Adding to the donated theme her bag is a gift from a her who visited Thailand and below you can see a close up of her skirt from Topshop. Toni does exceptionally well to make to blend the colours of gold, orange, purple and pink, she does it very well and makes it look very stylish.

Seeing as today is menswear day at London Fashion Week, it is only befitting that today’s downtheditch styler features a man of course! Today we have Mike originally from Liverpool but now living in Hackney who is a Graphic Designer for a music label in London. His style is a blend of Topman, high street and vintage clothing, you are a ‘top man’ Sir!

The next edition of downtheditch styler features the lovely Lisa who is a knitwear fashion student in Nottingham. She tells us that her fashion icon is Alexa Chung and that her style is a mix and match from High Street stores and Vintage shops.
Take a look at her thick grey scarf which she wears over her dad’s Levis jacket!
She wears a top from Topshop with some tights and some vintage purple Clarks.
Last but not least she shows off her rather cute rucksack from Italy which her friend gave to her.

It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t do something to mark London Fashion Week, so we happily welcome the return of our downtheditch styler series of Shoreditch street style videos. Today we meet Visual Merchandiser Christina wearing a rather fetching hat, fur coat, and amazingly detailed under jacket.
Her whole look and style is a wonderful combination of vintage and contemporary styles, along with a nice blend of fabrics. Christina is definitely one of the most stylish we have featured in our styler series and she is a fantastic representation of Shoreditch street style.

So last weekend we were out with our camera for the big Swagminati event at East Gallery on Brick Lane. It was a day full of independent, unique and undergrounds street wear fashion brands as well as good music, good food and good vibes. Under one roof we had some of the UK’s rising starts in terms of street wear fashion which included Dat Tag, Trikki Clothing, Fuudhoods, BSKA, Shining Heroes, Kay-em Tees, Sangster Jewellery and many many more hot brands. Brighton tailor Gresham Blake has opened his second London store right in the heart of the ‘ditch’ on Commercial Street. The move provides further evidence of Shoreditch cementing its position as a hub for up market and high-end fashion. Gresham Blake specialises in offering tailor made, bespoke, made to mesure suits as well as bespoke shirts for men and women. The approach to tailoring is described as ‘relaxed’ offering a ‘welcome alternative to Savile Row, while providng the same level of service and quality’.
Prices for men start from £690 for a two piece suit and £550 for women, I understand this is quite reasonably priced for the bespoke suit world, especially for suits of such a high quality. The launch of the store was supported by celebrities such as actor Ray Winstone and his daughter Jamie, comedian Steve Coogan, Channel 4 news presenter Krishnan Guru Murthy and Mitch Winehouse
You can take a nice little trip down to the Shoreditch Gresham Blake store at 143, Commercial Street, London, E1 6BJ but make sure you don’t head down on a Monday as according to website, it’s closed on Mondays!

Welsh designer Robyn Coles is planning to send models down the catwalk naked for a saucy show taking place ‘down the ditch’ during London Fashion Week. Apart from wearing the designer’s hats the models will be appearing completely in the nude as she shows of her first ever fashion collection at the capitals premier fashion extravaganza.
The event will be taking place on 21st February under the Arches at the White Rabbit Studios which is just off Shoreditch High Street. When the time comes it will be interesting to see the models bare all!
downtheditch styler episode 7 features Nicola, a recent fashion design graduate and vintage clothing businesswoman. We met at one of the vintage fairs near Brick Lane. Nicola shares with us her style of bright colours and material clash with her own creative hand-made jewellery. Come to see for yourself if you are amazed by the beautiful and clever necklace as I was.
