The Pedibus comes to Shoreditch

Austrian bike ride small

Austrian culture comes to ‘the ditch’ on Thursday 29th March – Having a long month? Bank balance groaning under the pressure of socialising just before pay day? If you fancy something different to do in the evening with no costly bills, look out for the In Pursuit Bike and dirndl girls. This multi-seater ‘pedi-bus’ could be yours for an hour after work – bring some friends and have a few beers.

The pedibus is a 10 seater peddle powered bus and will be making its rounds in the financial district, hitting Tower Hill, Bishopsgate, Spitalfields and Liverpool Street.   On the day you will have a chance of winning a 10 day austrian adventure for two.  With the nice weather we have been having recently this certainly will be a sight to behold as the pedibus passes through the Shoreditch streets!

Masaaki Yoshida, aka Anchorsong, plays a very special live set at Cargo as he starts a round-the-world tour supporting his debut album Chapters out Nov 28th on Tru Thoughts records.
Anchorsong has become globally recognised for his unique live shows, which many people have described as “like watching a painter drawing on a blank canvas”, as he creates electronic music completely live using a sampler (MPC2500) and a keyboard, right in front of the audience. While he mainly performs solo, he frequently augments this setup with a string quartet, for a truly spellbinding show.
Having always been swept away by the atmosphere and excitement of live performance, Anchorsong brings that vibrant energy, warmth and sense of occasion to the world of electronic music with his compelling live act.
Don’t miss this.

DC Shoes Europe Presents Burning Ink

_BZRWgQQBWk___KGrHgoH_DoEjlLluCsSBKl1h_zzww___1

DC SHOES EUROPE PRESENTS BURNING INK ART SHOW
“ALL THE DRAWINGS WILL BE BURNT AT THE END OF THE SHOW”
Following on from the success of the Burning Ink event in Paris, New York City and Berlin,
DC Europe is proud to be launching the 4th edition of the Burning Ink art show in London
(Beach Gallery, 20 Cheshire Street, E2), from the 13th to the 31st of March 2012 in
partnership with Kids love Ink Custom Tattooing owned by the very talented Charlie Shazer.
Bringing together a unique selection of world-renowned street artists, graphic designers and
illustrators, Burning Ink is a crossover event between the worlds of fine arts and tattoos.
Previous editions artists were: Ssur, SBTG, Jeykill, Supakitch, Koralie, Xghetto666, Prunelle,
Scien+Klor & Dean (123klan), Marok, Spoe, Jef & Kostek @La Boucherie Moderne, Chloe
Trujillo and more… curated by Erwann Lameignère.
The concept is as radical and unique as before: all the handmade drawings designed by
selected artists will be burnt at the end of the show. A very different concept to an
ordinary art show, no one can go home with the art in its hands. The only way for the
drawings to survive the flames is to be bought and inked into the buyers’ skin, making
each design a unique tattoo.
The first edition of Burning Ink was held in Paris at Jeykill’s “Bleu Noir”, the tattoo
parlor/gallery in Durantin street, Paris 18th. New York’s Burning Ink took place in Frank’s
Chop shop, an incredible barber shop, managed by a young team of creative blades,
located in the Lower east side, at Essex street, 19. Berlin’s burning ink took place in the
downtown venue and well known MadeMyDay collabroom, located at Torstrasse, 66 not far
from Alexander Platz.
Burning Ink art show – March 13th to 31st
With Kids Love Ink custom tattooing, exhibition @ beach gallery
20-14 Cheshire St. (Off Brick Lane) London.
“All the drawings will be burnt at the end of the show…”

Check out some pictures from the Berlin Burning ink show.

The Diner is an Authentic American Diner that’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Diner is situated in the heart of Shoreditch on Curtain road (right next to Fix 126) they also have branches in Camden, Soho, Islington and Kensal Rise. They have all day breakfast, which includes pancakes, breakfast burrito’s, waffles, french toast, hash browns and the Hungry Man’s Breakfast as well as a selection of salads, burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, desserts, milkshakes and much much more. My favourite food at The Diner include; Banana Pancakes, Mexican Breakfast (2 Eggs, Chorizo, Black Beans, Tortilla & Tomato Salsa), Mexican burger, The Diablo, Chicken Fajita, Onion Rings, Sweet Potato Fries, Chilli Cheese Fries, Chicken Caesar, Hot Chocolate and there variety of shakes.

It’s also great as the waiters and waitresses are shoreditch cool and fit in great with the 1950′s vibe.

MED & Black Milk Live @Cargo_LDN

MED_top

The Doctor’s Orders in association with Dephect present MED (performing live) & BLACK MILK (DJ Set) & Piff Gang, Spin Doctor & Chris P Cuts

7pm-11pm Thursday 26th January
@ Cargo, 83 Rivington Street, London EC2A 3AY (Old Street Tube)

£8 early bird (Sold Out)
Then £12 in advance

Few Hip-Hoppers who have managed to make such a huge impression on the underground scene without denting the consciousness of the mainstream. Tonight we are blessed by UK appearances by not one but two artists who fit into this category in the shape of Stones Throw Record’s MED and Detroit’s super producer Black Milk.

West cost hero MED has an impressive stable of producers behind him. Having made his debut with Madlib produced Lootpack he has blessed beats from J-Dilla, Just Blaze and Oh No. It is little wonder considering the man’s stunning breathe control and his no holds barred wordplay. His latest full length album ‘Classic’ (Stones Throw) is just that, a bonafide underground classic.

Black Milk is one of the most prolific producers in the game right now. With a sounds that is distinctly his own and distinctly Detroit at the same time he joins us tonight for a very rare DJ set. Having blown up stages for The Doctor’s Orders performing solo and as one third of Random Axe we are really excited to welcome him behind the decks tonight for a set not only of his own productions but a selection of the tunes that have inspired him over the years.

This opportunity to see and hear these two rock a London stage together is not to be missed and if their presence was not enough for you then London’s own Piff Gang will be getting the stage warmed up with his witty takes on life in the capital while Spin Doctor & Chris P Cuts set the mood on the decks.

Brought to you in association with Dephect
